A THIRD-DAy Fidau (Prayer for the deceased) was held for Alhaja Sarat Banire, the mother of the Chairman of Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), Dr Muiz Banire.
Late Alhaja Banire died last Friday. She was 91.

The Chief Missioner of Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Lagos branch, Imam Zakariyyah Thanni and other Islamic scholars, led the prayer, which lasted for hours.Imam Thanni, in his sermon, enlightened people on the need to take care of the heart, which is nearer to the fear of Allah.

He quoted Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as saying: “There is in the body a clump of flesh, if it becomes good, the whole body becomes good and if it becomes bad, the whole body becomes bad. And indeed it is the heart.”

The scholar said: “The highest of deeds can be of no avail if the hearts are sick. So the place of the heart should, in our minds occupy great attention. We have to spend much of our time observing, being aware of the state of our heart.”

Thanni advised Muslim to take care of their hearth because there is no other faculty in the human body and existence that a believer should be more concerned about.“We have to make sure that this faculty is functioning as Allah wishes it to function. We should be greatly concerned about it”.He urged Muslims to ensure that their hearth is in good shape by engaging in all forms of worship noting that the Islamic rituals enjoyed by Allah have numerous benefit.

“The prophet instructed us to take care of both the flesh and the earth by engaging in lot of worship. We believe the Islamic rituals are just act of worships but they are more than only worship, it has physical benefit and spiritual benefit. So many neglect the hearth and take care of the flesh, they forget that it is the hearth that makes them human.

The Mudir of Baa-Es-Salam, Imam Hassan Tahir urged Muslim to be conscious of Allah (SWT) by leaving according to the Quran and the sunnah of the holy prophet Muhammad (SAW) because every soul shall taste death.

“Each and every one of us should always be cautious of what we sent forth, most of us are not the concern of our deed but concern of what we nerve own. In the earth we own nothing, everything including our self belongs to Allah.

” Today you are president tomorrow someone else will be the president, your relationship to anything in this world is just like the relationship of a mechanic with his tools, immediately he finishes with the tool he drops it. He doesn’t need it for anything except for doing his job. Any opportunity giving to you by Allah is given to you to build your hereafter

“ Allah gave you wealth, power, beauty, certificate to build your hereafter, you will nerve be buried with them. Immediately you die they become useless because you don’t need them in the grave. He noted that most of the challenges we are facing in the world today is due to the negligence of the hereafter. “It is not money that is our problem, today, we have money more than the past generation because the budget of a local government presently is more than the budget of the entire nation in the past and they are more comfortable than us. If we work for the hereafter we will make the world the best place and also gain the hereafter.
