IN compliance with government policy to get rid of 2-stroke engines in Nigerian market, Boulos Enterprises limited in partnership with Suzuki Motors Company, has assured it dealers and costumers a robust business relationship.

The assurance was given at an event to mark the 50th anniversary of the company in Nigeria at the company’s head office, Acme Road, Agidingbi Ikeja, Lagos, last week.

The event, which was graced by notable dealers in the company’s products and dignitaries from Ministries of Fishery and Water transportation from Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Lagos, Ondo, Rivers States and Cameroon, was aimed at sensitizing the dealers on the 4-stroke engine.

The General Manager of Boulos Enterprises, Julian Hardy said the Company was on the part of offering the public high quality outboard motors that are designed to suit the Nigerian environment and water.

He said: “What distinguished Suzuki OBM from other competitors are her exceptional models of Outboard motors designed to meet the demand of the market in terms of customer satisfaction.

“The company has a vision of manufacturing all our products like Motor cycles, Tricycles among others locally; and we have concluded arrangement to commence local production of windscreen for a start.”

“Boulos/Suzuki is the only company in Nigeria that is distributing 4-stroke engine and sooner or later, the company with start manufacturing automobile in Nigeria.”

In his reaction, Bayo Adedayo, a dealer in Suzuki Outboard Motors from Port Harcourt, noted that: “With the sensitization exercise the company embarks upon, Nigeria would be able to know the danger in using the 2-stroke engine and the environmental hazard associated with it. Nigerians are used to 2-stroke engines and it is important that the company educates the distributors and costumers on why the people must comply with government policy on the discontinuation of the use of the product in the country.

He said further that in terms of fuel consumption, management and environment friendliness, 4-stroke is better compared to 2-stroke engines that are currently used in Nigeria.”

Representative of Ondo State Department of fishery services, Barrister Rotimi Ibrahim said: “I took over the affair of Ondo State fishery department in 1989 and I can say Suzuki products stand out among others. It is durable, fuel-efficient and the after-sale-service and accessibility of the spare parts are what endear the product to the users.
