In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Beta Glass Plc conducted breast cancer screening exercises for employees at three of its locations in Lagos, Ogun and Delta states.

The screening exercise, held on October 14, 2026, covered the company’s headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos, and its manufacturing plants in Agbara, Ogun State, and Ughelli, Delta State.

The initiative was part of the company’s 2026 #FromGreenToPink campaign, which focused on women’s health and the importance of early detection.

Conducted in partnership with its Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO), the exercise was aimed at making preventive healthcare more accessible to employees and encouraging them to take proactive steps towards monitoring their health.

Before the screening, the company held a virtual awareness session on October 12, where healthcare professionals educated employees on breast cancer risk factors, warning signs and the importance of regular screening.

The session also provided an opportunity for employees to ask questions, address common misconceptions and learn when to seek medical attention.

Speaking about her experience, a Quality Assurance Specialist at the company’s Ughelli plant, Diseye Famita Goni said the exercise gave her access to a service she had not experienced before.

“I had never been anywhere that provided free access to breast cancer screening,” she said.

The campaign also extended to the wider community with an awareness walk held on October 28 in Lagos. Employees walked from the company’s head office in Victoria Island to Sandfill Bus Stop, carrying campaign materials and sharing messages about breast cancer awareness and early detection.

Representatives of Eti-Osa Local Government Area joined the walk.

Speaking during the exercise, the Health Education and Information Officer at Eti-Osa LGA, Taiwo Olaitan commended Beta Glass for promoting breast cancer awareness and preventive healthcare.

“Early detection of breast cancer is very important, especially as women grow older. We thank Beta Glass for organising this awareness walk. It has been a wonderful experience, and the campaign carries an important message,” he said.

Olaitan expressed hope for further partnerships with the company to promote health awareness and community wellbeing.

Also commenting on the campaign, the HR Director of Beta Glass Plc, Gladys Umoh said the initiative was designed to give employees access to reliable health information and screening services.

“Through #FromGreenToPink, we are creating opportunities for our employees to access reliable health information and screening services within a supportive environment,” she said.

Umoh said the company wanted employees to understand the importance of early detection and feel empowered to make informed decisions about their health.

Launched in 2025, #FromGreenToPink is an annual campaign that combines women’s health awareness with the company’s focus on environmental sustainability.

Through the 2026 edition, Beta Glass sought to encourage employees and members of the wider community to prioritise their health, with the message that early detection saves lives.
