Towards improving the quality of healthcare services in the community, the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Ikeja, has donated a range of medical equipment to the Isolo local council in Lagos State.

The donation was made during a ceremony at the hospital, where the JCI Ikeja President, Omowunmi Fakoya, said the organisation was committed to contributing to the community.

The donated items include double crank beds, orthopedic foam, an examination bed, an oxygen cylinder, a first aid box, adjustable drip stands, a digital pressure machine, an acute check machine, a ward screen, and a resuscitator for kids.

Fakoya explained that the organisation had identified the need for improved healthcare facilities in the community and decided to take the lead in providing the necessary equipment.

She said: “We discovered that the Ajao health centre is not well equipped and needs to be improved. We know that’s the only way we can help our community, by improving the facilities, so that healthcare centres can work perfectly.”

Also speaking, Director Big Broda 2024 JCI Ikeja, Edirin Erhueh, said the donation stemmed from their desire to contribute to humanity and assist the government in the provision of health facilities.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District Six, Abimbola Mabogunje, commended JCI Ikeja for their philanthropic efforts, stating that the government alone cannot provide all the necessary healthcare facilities. Mabogunje encouraged other Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to partner with the government to improve healthcare services.
