Institute begins consumer research consultancy

businessIn order to provide platforms for insight into consumer behaviours and trends, the Nigeria Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has announced it has set up a committee within the body to be engaging in consumer research on consultancy basis.

Intimating the media of the new development in Lagos last week, the President of NIMN, Koledoye said that it is a pity that the institute has not been doing that before now, relegating training and consultancy to the background in its activities. For him, moving forward that is changing. He stated that alongside providing consultancy service for individuals and corporate organisations on market and consumer research, the institute as a form of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) would be periodically engaging in consumer research that provide the country and decision makers with some vital information for policy and decision makers. In line with that, he said that the institute would be having an opinion poll on the forthcoming election in Bayelsa State. He also said that there are plans to have an opinion poll on the gubernatorial election in Edo State. He further said that after doing this at the state levels, the institute hopes to replicate the process at the national level.

He said that whatever market research the institute engaged in, it would be a product delivered by competence marketing professionals. According to him, the essence of the new service is because marketing is about consumer satisfaction and it hopes through the service adds some value to its members and the general public.
