Kegites Club stages celebration Jara as Pa Adeniji goes home
Following announcements by the Adeniji family of Ile Abojosu, Ita Olola Ogbomoso of burial plans for their patriarch, Pa John Adebisi Adeniji, foremost socio-cultural group, the Kegites Club International has concluded plans to host a get together/gyration in honour of the late centenarian, particularly for his contributions to the promotion of African culture.
The burial ceremony will take place on February 27th and 28th, 2025. The burial arrangements will start with a wake keep service at the premises of Oja Oba Baptist Church, Ijeru area on Thursday February 27, 2025.
According to one of the deceased’ sons, Adegbenro Ademola, members of Kegites Club International will hold the night of tribute, tagged: “Celebration Jara” in recognition of the deceased children’s contributions to the esteemed socio-cultural group.
To be held at Aso Rock Hotel, Are-Ago area of the ancient town, on Thursday 27, February, Adegbenro explained that a host of traditional music performers have been lined up for the night of tribute, tagged: “Celebration Jara”.
Fondly called “The Boy”, Adegbenro said Pa Adeniji will be buried in the residence of his eldest son, Pa Sunday Adeniran Adeniji, at Odo Koto Area, Ogbomoso, on Friday 28th.
He added that entertainment of guests will follow immediately at Osupa Baptist Day School playing field, opposite Bowen University Teaching Hospital, Osupa area.
Adegbenro, an oil and agropreneur, said that the burial ceremony will conclude with a thanksgiving service to be held at the same church on March 2, 2025.
Pa Adeniji, a retired Oyo State civil servant, is survived by brothers, sisters, wives, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, one of them is New Telegraph Correspondent, Adeyinka Adeniji, Dosen, Margarete Adeyinka, Abiodun Adeniji, a business tycoon among others.
