MUSWEN seeks quality education for children
The President of MUSWEN, Alhaji Sakariyyahu Babalola made the call in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.
Babalola spoke when he led a delegation of the organisation to the newly-elected President-General of the League of Imams and Alfas in the South-West, Edo and Delta States, Alhaji Kewulere Bello.
He said this was necessary in view of the enormous importance of education to human development and the society.
“It is our belief that access to quality and balanced education for Muslim children is an area that the Muslim Ummah must pursue with unmatched vigour.
“The Ummah cannot afford to remain behind and watch while the rest of the world makes rapid progress by virtue of good education,” he said.
Babalola said the team was in Ado-Ekiti to congratulate the new President-General, saying it was a way of showing solidarity and support for his term.
According to him, MUSWEN was formed to promote the Islamic religion as well as advance the course of its adherents.
He announced that part of its mandate was to carry out enumeration of all Mosques in the zone so as to know their locations and their needs.
Responding, the new President-General who also doubles as the grand-Imam of Ekiti State expressed gratitude for the visit and promised to promote unity among Muslim faithful.
He said he would also accommodate all Muslim organisations in the operation of the League.
