Rotarian Demola Martins has expressed appreciation to those that supported him during his tenure as the Irresistible President of Rotary Club of Festac Town, Lagos.

Martins gave the appreciation recently while giving account of his stewardship while handingover to the new club president.

According to him, it was 365 days of making impacts and overcoming challenges.

He took members through notable milestones during the 2024-2025 Rotary year, saying, “I am excited that we have collectively come this far in our Magic of Rotary journey.”

“We had the opportunity of marketing Rotary to the general public and the outcome of this exercise has been very productive. The ‘One Bring One’ initiative was also very helpful to our membership recruitment during the Rotary year. We inducted 10 new members and two honorary Rotarians to the family and delisted nine members. Our membership status as of June 2025 stood at 65. We organised alongside seven clubs within Zone 6, an impactful membership seminar during the month of August 2024. This was to ensure that members get adequate knowledge of the importance of bringing in new members.  We also organised the first phase of the new members orientation tagged ‘Hangout with the President’ to avail our new members of the task ahead of them as Rotarians.”

Martins particularly thanked the immediate past president of the club, Rotn. Vincent Iwueze and PAG Kingsley Nwosu for honouring the club’s invitation to share their wealth of knowledge and encourage the members.
   
He said the club donated safe birth kits to expectant mothers at Amuwo Odofin Primary Health Centre, gave 16 vocational equipments; popcorn machine, sewing machine, grinding machine and oven, to selected beneficiaries.

“For disease prevention and treatment, we carried out a dental health awareness and treatment project in December 2024, in collaboration with ROTD Dental Clinic. The clinic offered free consultation services and also treated some selected few beneficiaries,” he said.
