Netz Capital by Luca Netz is the latest entrant in the angel investment arena
It has already invested in tech start ups and direct to consumer brands, and is marching ahead in fast pace by increasing its portfolio.
German footballer Luca Schnetzler, popularly known as Luca Netz, after conquering the sports arena has now stepped in to the entrepreneurial zone by establishing his angel investment company Netz Capital which is focussing on boosting startups which show potential by investing in them. After its inception, it has invested heavily in some promising tech start-ups and direct-to-consumer brands. We spoke to Luca to know the reason behind choosing these specific niches for investments, to which he replied, “Tech startups have a bright future as there has been tremendous growth in the technology sector and with the advancement of digitization these will show exponential growth.”
Apart from investing in tech startups, Netz Capital has also shown interest in the direct-to-consumer brands space as the margins are on a higher side owing to the middlemen being surpassed resulting in an increase in overall profit figures. Luca strongly feels that angel investment firms invest with the sole aim of raking in the profits and maximizing gains and DTC brands provide ample opportunities for neat profits as the there are no wholesalers and retailers which eat the maximum profits from the business.
Generally, angel investors pump in a small amount initially into DTC brands as no security is involved, however with time they raise their investments as they spot potential for growth. This way they minimize the risks and they get enough time to analyze the brand.
Netz Capital has invested in Vibe, which is the fastest growing DTC brands of present time. The brand has a wide range of products for men that consist of shampoo, hairspray and pomade. Looking at its fast growing popularity, Vibe has now introduced a body care line with activated charcoal body wash.
Apart from this DTC brand, Luca’s company has also invested in tech startups like Social SnowBall, which is an affiliate marketing app, Steam Commerce, which is an end-to-end solution provider for e-commerce, and Chirpish, which is a customer care service workforce provider which has helped many businesses grow by offering their impeccable services which include phone, chat, email and social media support. Netz Capital has indeed proved that it wants to conquer this space by investing in some of the best lot which bear a promising future.
