In the new role, Obennebo will oversee the brand’s creative direction across its collections, campaigns, collaborations, digital platforms and visual storytelling.

The appointment marks a shift for Obennebo, who has spent much of his career modelling for international fashion houses.

Discovered by Beth Model Management Africa in 2016, he won the Nigerian edition of the Elite Model Look competition before winning the global final that same year.

The victory made him the first Black model to win the international competition in its 33-year history at the time.

Obennebo later made his Milan Fashion Week debut for Versace, opening and closing the fashion house’s menswear show.

His modelling credits also include work connected to Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, Emporio Armani and Balmain.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Peach House Lagos, Jane Ogu, said the appointment followed the company’s decision to sharpen its creative identity.

“This is a defining moment for Peach House. As the brand continues to grow, we recognised the need for stronger creative direction, clearer storytelling and a more intentional visual identity that reflects where we are headed,” Ogu said.

She added that the company wants to use fashion to explore identity, confidence and modern African expression.

“We are building more than a fashion brand. We are building a creative and cultural platform that speaks to today’s generation through style, identity, confidence and modern African expression,” she said.

Peach House said Obennebo would draw from his international experience to shape the brand’s creative output and positioning.

The company also plans to introduce new collections and campaigns while working with stylists, artists and other creatives.

Obennebo’s appointment comes as more Nigerian fashion brands seek experienced professionals with international exposure to support their expansion beyond the local market.
