Pearl Universal Impex enhances rice production with 20,000mt

To ensure attainment of self-sufficiency in the area of rice production, Pearl Universal Impex Limited (A PJS Group Company), said it has increased its rice production to 20,000mt annually.

The integrated rice value chain company, which has operations in seeds procurement, paddy cultivation, storage, parboiling, milling, bagging, logistics and marketing had adopted the backward integration of the Federal Government to boost local rice production and reduce Nigerian dependence on importation.

Chairman Pearl Universal Impex, Mr. Pulkit Jain noted that Pearl’s farming strategy was to cultivate rice three times in a year, covering both the dry and wet seasons, adding that the company has kept faith with this strategy and so far harvested over 20,000 metric tonnes of paddy.
