Pelumi, Okeke emerge winners of mathematical brilliance reward initiative

Students of Ansar-Ud-Deen Senior High School, Surulere, Lagos, Dosu Pelumi and Allison High School’s Divine Okeke have emerged winners of the maiden edition of Mathematics Brilliance Reward Initiative (MBRI).

The competition, sponsored by ABK global engineering services limited, in collaboration with Youth Orientation For Development (YOD), a non-governmental organisation affiliated to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), is geared at promoting excellence and rewarding outstanding students in mathematics.

Pelumi, who emerged the overall best in the senior category received, a cash prize of N50, 000 while Okeke got N30, 000 in the junior category among other gift items.

The second and third prize winners were also rewarded with the cash prize of N30, 000 and N20, 000 in the senior category, as well as N20, 000 and N15, 000 in the junior category respectively. There were also consolation prizes for other participants.

Speaking at the inaugural award ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of the company, Sunday Enato, said the overall aim is to meaningfully engage the youths and spur their interest in the subject, which is very imperative in every field of study.
