Founder, Doregos private academy, Mrs. Clementina Doregos has urged the Federal Government to increase the budget for education to meet up with the 21st century challenges.

She spoke at the 24th valedictory mass, thanksgiving and graduation ceremony of the academy held at St Bernadette School, Ipaja, Lagos.

Mrs. Doregos posited that if more funds were added to the budget, infrastructural deficit in schools would be a thing of the past.

“The budget on education is too small, the population of Nigeria is large, there are so many children and the facilities are not enough.

We need to put a lot of money in education, as education is not cheap. Globally, things are improving everyday and if we don’t follow the trend, our education will become obsolete. To meet up with the 21st century we need more funds in the sector.”

Mrs. Doregos also advised parents to be mindful of their children and wards to shield them from bad influences.

Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Noah Olaiya urged the graduating students to be focused and run with the vision they have for their lives.

“You need to have a vision, be focused and run with your vision. If you can conceive it, you can achieve it. You must ride on your vision to achieve your goal.

Head of school, Mr. Adebisi Adegbulugbe advised the children not to rest on their oars and take up the next phase of their lives with strong faith.

“Know that the next stage you are about to step onto is totally different from the one you are stepping out of, hence, the need to be meticulous and wary of the company you keep. You must endeavor to influence the world that is set before you with your unique identity.

Trust in yourself that you are ready for the roadblocks that may get in your way.”

The total numbers of graduating students were 112 and the event witnessed cultural dances, quiz and prize giving.
