Risevest prioritizes inclusion, diversity by sponsoring female students’ education abroad
Risevest, a financial technology company, has announced its commitment to promoting gender equity and inclusion in its business operations by sponsoring the SATs and preparatory costs for two female students from Nigeria to study in the United States.
The initiative was in celebration of International Women’s Month, which is dedicated to highlighting the achievements of women globally and advocating for gender equality and equity. Risevest’s campaign theme for the month is #EmbraceEquity, which aims to raise awareness on the importance of equity for women and why equality is not enough.
According to the company, the decision to sponsor the students was based on the realization that there are many smart and amazing women outside the organization who may not have the opportunities to showcase their talents or develop themselves to be better.
Risevest partnered with Mrs. Olagbaju, the Managing Partner of Abigail St. Johns Advising and Formation Services, to identify the top-performing female students in some of the best schools in Nigeria. After a screening process, the company selected two brilliant 16-year-old girls and paid for their SAT registration and exam prep course.
The SAT is a standardized test used by many colleges and universities in the United States as part of their admissions process. The two students performed exceptionally well in the test and other preparatory exams, applied to their schools of choice, and are currently awaiting a response.
Risevest believes that education is a vital factor in promoting gender equality, as studies have shown that educating girls and women can lead to better health outcomes, increased economic opportunities, and improved social outcomes. The company is committed to breaking down barriers to education for women and girls, including lack of access, poverty, and discrimination.
To this end, Risevest plans to continue its efforts to promote gender equity and inclusion within its company and the wider community. The company hopes that its initiative will help the two female students pursue their dreams and contribute positively to their country, communities, and the world.
As International Women’s Month continues, Risevest encourages everyone to think about how they can support women and girls in their communities, whether through education, mentorship, or speaking out against discrimination and inequality. The company is proud to be part of this important work and looks forward to continuing to champion gender equity and inclusion in everything it does.
