Ambassador Jolly Abani, Chief Executive Officer of Mother of Models International and the initiator of the 40 and Fabulous Naija reality TV show, has explained that the initiative was created to challenge long-standing stereotypes about ageing.
According to Abani, the platform seeks to reshape societal perceptions of women over 40 by highlighting their vitality, confidence, and continued relevance across different spheres of life.
She lamented that in many societies, including Nigeria, women who reach a certain age are often unfairly sidelined or considered past their prime.
“The reality show was conceived to counter such narratives by celebrating mature women who are accomplished, resilient, and eager to pursue new opportunities,” Abani said.
Speaking ahead of the grand finale of Season 3 of the show in Abuja, she revealed that the overall winner will receive a N10 million cash prize, a car, and other rewards. This season featured 10 housemates—women in their 40s—who camped together for 60 days, showcasing their talents, skills, and personal growth.
The grand finale is scheduled for April 18, 2026, at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, and promises a night of fun, entertainment, and celebration, with performances by Chella, Bracket, Bimbo Akintola, Empress Njamah, Shortcut, Notrace, Roy General, Veno, and Oge Kimono.
Abani emphasised that the show aims to project women above 40 as active contributors to national development, rather than individuals limited by age. By bringing together women from diverse professional and social backgrounds, the initiative demonstrates that maturity comes with wisdom, strength, and renewed purpose.
“Life begins at 40. That is exactly what this show is about. For far too long, women in their 40s have been marginalised and discouraged from pursuing their dreams. 40 and Fabulous Naija was created to celebrate and unlock their untapped potentials,” she stated.
