Fatherhood, mentorship take lead at Fathers & Sons Legacy Conference

CONFERENCE

Fathers, mentors, and boys gathered in Abuja for the Fathers & Sons Legacy Conference, an initiative of the Tee Adekunle Initiative for Boys, aimed at promoting intentional fatherhood, mentorship, character development, and legacy building.

Convened by Triumph Adekunle, the conference provided a platform for fathers and sons to strengthen their relationships through meaningful conversations, interactive activities, keynote sessions, and panel discussions focused on raising responsible and purpose-driven young men.

Recognising that many boys are raised without their biological fathers, the conference also welcomed mentors, guardians, uncles, pastors, teachers, coaches, and other positive male role models, reinforcing the message that every boy deserves healthy male guidance and intentional support.

Speaking at the event, Triumph Adekunle stressed on the importance of investing in boys and equipping the men who influence their lives.

“We did not gather simply to host another conference. We gathered to create moments that matter. We believe the future is not somewhere we are going; the future is someone we are raising. Every conversation between a father and son, every lesson shared by a mentor, and every seed of character planted today has the potential to shape generations,” she said.

The conference featured keynote addresses by respected speakers and mentors, alongside interactive father-son engagements and panel discussions designed to encourage open communication, strengthen family bonds, and foster personal growth.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of recognition awards to individuals whose dedication to fatherhood, mentorship, and youth development has positively impacted families and communities. Fathers and mentors who intentionally devoted time to supporting and guiding boys were also celebrated for their commitment, with organisers describing presence as one of the greatest gifts a man can offer a child.

Reflecting on the success of the conference, Adekunle expressed appreciation to the speakers, volunteers, sponsors, mentors, fathers, and participants for contributing to the event’s impact.

“The conference may have lasted only a few hours, but I believe its impact will be measured for years to come in stronger families, wiser young men, healthier relationships, and lives transformed one conversation at a time. This is only the beginning. The work continues,” she said.

The Fathers & Sons Legacy Conference is an annual initiative of the Tee Adekunle Initiative for Boys, dedicated to raising boys of character, faith, responsibility, and purpose by strengthening the relationships between boys and the men who influence their lives.
