The Discovery Centre recently kicked off the Nigerian leg of its globally acclaimed women-focused workshop The Blueprint of How, in Lagos, Nigeria. The sold-out intensive seminar, which attracted women from various walks of life and from different states of the federation, took place on March 25, 2017.

Speaking on the 2017 edition of the Blueprint of How, the seminar’s convener and CEO of the Discovery Centre, Mfon Ekpo, said: “I am gratified by the impact the seminar continues to have in the lives of women, their inspirations and its implementation. Women are no longer waiting on the sidelines to be validated or invited to the table but are equipping and positioning themselves.

“The Blueprint of How is creating replicable and scalable structures targeted at creating a critical mass of educated women, a core component required in accelerating the implementation of policies and development of women in Africa.”

Ms. Ekpo who is a multiple award winning maritime lawyer, development strategist, International speaker, trainer and coach with the John Maxwell Team, was this year nominated as a finalist for the British Council Alumni Awards for Social Impact in Nigeria and named one of Nigeria’s 100 most inspiring women by Leading Ladies Africa.

The 2017 workshop series, which will also be holding in Abuja, Port Harcourt, London and Atlanta, will hold its next session in Abuja on April 22, 2017.
