50 Cent To Seize Assets If Former Employee Does Not Pay $6M Lawsuit
According to reports, 50 Cent is looking for the assets of a former employee who was convicted of stealing millions of dollars from his champagne company.
The 47-year-old posted on Instagram shared a caption that read “50 Cent Ready To Seize Ex-Employee’s Property Over $6M Lawsuit. Look I’m a need that by Monday!” wrote the rap mogul, legal name Curtis Jackson, in the caption.
The piece itself went into detail about the legal dispute between the former G-Unit rapper and Mitchell Green, the former brand management director of champagne company Le Chemin du Roi. Media reports suggests that Green exaggerated the cost of the good and took kickbacks from distributors who collected $2.2 million in “agency fees.”
Green admitted in February 2020, “after two years of embezzling from Sire Spirits,” 50Cents business that also houses Branson Cognac, according to court records acquired by the site.
An arbitrator determined that Green must return the immoral gains, as well as an additional $948,096 paid to a wholesaler and an additional $2.7 million in attorneys’ expenses, for a total payment of almost $6 million.
