A Twitter user has called out Nigerian singer, Adekunle Gold for reportedly aiding and abetting internet fraudsters popularly referred to as “Yahoo Boys”.

The allegation is coming on the heels of Gold’s wife, Simi slamming Yahoo boys as bringing shame to Nigeria and making the country a laughing stock. Simi who is also a singer had said the scammers need to stop listening to their songs as they do not need them.

Reacting to Simi’s call out, a social media user pointed Gold’s attention to his wife’s utterances and alleged that Gold edited documents for the said Yahoo boys when he was still a graphic designer. Their exchange goes thus:

Twitter user: “Dekunle hope you’ve heard what your wife said about Yahoo boys!”

Adekunle Gold: “Yes sir. Any problem”

Twitter user: “Why don’t you let her know that there was a time you use to edit documents for Yahoo boys for their scam activities?”

Adekunle Gold: “There was a time like that? How come I’m just finding out myself? Wow!”

Twitter user: “Because you never find it wrong then until the dreams became different. Just tell your wife because she had the privilege doesn’t mean others will and she should not criticize anyone, let people reap what they sow, no damn human being is holy. She should put her mouth on her mic and make music and not to people’s hustle affairs. Thank you.”

It would be recalled that in recent times, the Nigerian government through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been coming down hard on the cybercrime with many youngsters arrested in connection.
