Beyonce and Solange Knowles reportedly tested negative for the mutated human tumor suppressor gene, which can put females at a higher risk of developing ovarian and breast cancer.

Through gene testing, Mathew discovered he has a mutation on his BRCA2 gene, which gives him an increased chance of getting prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, melanoma, and breast cancer meaning he will stay on top of early detection testing for the rest of his life.

Luckily, Mathew’s cancer was found early, and he had surgery to remove the breast at the end of July. He told reporters that he was planning to get his second breast removed in January to reduce the risk of the cancer returning.

According to the NHS, breast cancer is rare in men but occasionally occurs in those over the age of 60. This is because men have a small amount of breast tissue behind their nipples where cancer develops.
