Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, better known as Beyoncé, has officially been crowned the greatest popstar of the 21st century by Billboard, solidifying her place as a global music icon.

The award-winning singer topped Billboard’s list, ahead of Taylor Swift in second place. Rihanna, Drake, and Lady Gaga rounded out the top five, while Britney Spears, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Adele completed the top ten.

This recognition comes as no surprise, considering Beyoncé’s unparalleled achievements in the music industry. She holds the record for the most Grammy nominations ever—99 in total—and is also the most-awarded artist in Grammy history.

Her discography includes groundbreaking albums and chart-topping hits that have shaped pop culture. Her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, gave us classics like “Crazy in Love” and “Baby Boy.” B’Day featured smash hits like “Irreplaceable” and “Déjà Vu,” while her self-titled visual album, Beyoncé, broke barriers with songs like “Drunk in Love” and “Partition.”

In 2016, Lemonade captivated audiences with its raw storytelling and hits such as “Formation” and “Hold Up.” Most recently, her Renaissance album set the dance floors ablaze with tracks like “Break My Soul.”
