Britney Spears has slammed Diane Sawyer for a 2003 interview they had following her (Britney’s) ‘big’ breakup with Justin Timberlake.

Britney is expressing her freedom now more than ever since the end of her 13-year conservatorship.

The 40-year-old singer in a now deleted Instagram post, openly discussed her infamous 2003 interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC.

“Do we dare forget the Diane Sawyer interview in my apartment almost 20 years ago?” she wrote. “What was with the ‘You’re in the wrong’ approach?? Geeze… and making me cry???”

She continued, “Seriously though… I lived in my apartment for a year and never spoke to anyone… my manager put that woman in my home and made me talk to her on national television and she asked if I had a shopping problem!!! when did I have a shopping problem?”

Addressing her 2002 split from Justin Timberlake, Spears revealed how “in shock” she was after it and “never spoke to anyone for a very long time.”

“Something I never shared when I had that break up years ago was that I couldn’t talk afterward,” she wrote, before adding, “I was in shock… pretty lame of my dad and three men to show up at my door when I could hardly speak… two days later they put Diane Sawyer in my living room… they forced me to talk!”

Speaking to PEOPLE,  her father’s lawyer Alex Weingarten denied Jamie’s involvement in the interview, saying he was “completely uninvolved” in its planning.

“Mr. Spears has no idea what Ms. Spears is talking about. Jamie never set up any interview with Diane Sawyer and was not present for any such interview,” the statement read. “He had nothing to do with Britney’s career at this point and was completely uninvolved in this interview. Jamie loves Britney very much, wishes Britney nothing but the best and hopes that she continues to seek the help that she needs to stay safe and healthy.”

Diane Sawyer has come under fire after the release of New York Times‘ Framing Britney Spears documentary as the movie included a part of the journalist’s intense questioning. Spears” fans have taken to social media to express their anger over the film describing it as “poor” and “disgusting.”

In her note, Spears also revealed that she was able to withdraw $300 from an ATM “and was so proud” of that moment, noting however that she was “maybe a little” embarrassed to share that news.

“I’m more embarrassed for my family for coding the fact that i wasn’t allowed to have cash for so long when I worked my little ass off for them,” she wrote. “I’m embarrassed for the state of California for permitting my father to have me work as hard as he worked me all those years and never seeing a dime.”

Spears was first placed under conservatorship in 2008 with her father, Jamie Spears, overseeing. And on November 12, an L.A judge ruled to terminate the 13-year conservatorship that granted her father authority over the singers affairs.
