False births
Last week, we brought you information that a South African local new outfit, Pretoria News, announced that a 37-year-old woman, Gosiame Sithole had given birth to 10 children (decuplets). It turns out that it may have been false after all. The boyfriend, Tebogo Tsotetsi, has now apologised to the public, stating that since she told him, he has attempted to visit her and see the babies but has been met by a brick wall. Tsotetsi has since requested that people stop paying money for support until it is confirmed. “We will now shift our attention to finding Gosiame Sithole while we pray for her safe return,” his family wrote in a statement.

“Eat the rich?”
Tesla’s Elon Musk has decided to sell the last of the homes he owns a week after a report said he and other billionaires paid little or no income taxes for several years. The 49-year-old tweeted this month that he has only one house in the San Francisco Bay Area that is rented out for events and that if he sold, it “would see less use unless bought by a big family, which might happen someday”. He first announced plans more than a year ago to sell his homes and most of his possessions as a way to blunt criticism of his wealth.

At a little before 8 a.m. on a cool day, veteran lobster diver Michael Packard entered the water for his second dive of the day when something biblical happened. Packard was swallowed whole by a humpback whale. Initially, Packard thought he was inside a great white shark, but he couldn’t feel any teeth and had suffered obvious wounds. He said, “I thought to myself, ‘there’s no way I’m getting out of here. I’m done, I’m dead,” as he thought of his children. He began to struggle, and the whale began shaking its head so that Packard could tell he didn’t like it and flung him back on the surface of the sea.

A man who had 39 wives and 94 children and was said to be the head of the world’s largest family has died in northeast India. He was 76-year-old. Ziona Chana, until his death, was the head of a local Christian sect that allows polygamy. With a total of 167 members, the family is the world’s largest, although this depends on whether you count the grandchildren, of whom Ziona has 33. Ziona lived with his family in a four-story pink structure with around 100 rooms that is now a tourist attraction. Ziona married his first wife when he was 17 and claimed he once married ten wives in a single year.

Celebrity media personality, Denrele Edun, turned 40, but that is not the story. Ahead of his birthday, he had a chat with Chude Jideonwo where he narrated his ordeal growing up in Nigeria as a former rich child, the stigmatisation his “exotic mother” had to face when they hit rock bottom and finally, his relationship experiences. For years, his sexuality had been the subject of inquiry until now. Narrating his relationship experiences, he said that he tried to date a man and “that was the worse decision of my life… From then on, I have said I am my own sugar daddy.”
