Rising star of the future, 12 year-old Christiana Igbokwe has reawaken the spirit of her late grandmother, legendary Christy Essien-Igbokwe aka Lady of. Songs in her latest single titled “Ku Saura” featuring the King of Arewa Music, Ali Jita.

The single, “Ku Saura,” features the legendary voice of the late Christy Essien Igbokwe in a posthumous collaboration, alongside Ali Jita.

According to the young singer and activist, it is a song to commemorate the Holy month as she wants us to forget our differences, forgive each other, and join our hands in peace and unity as one people under God.

Ku Saura sends a resounding message of peace and Unity.

Christiana, who is anticipating to release her debut album in November, says she had so much fun creating the remake of her Grandma’s Hit song “Ku Saura Re Ni”. Fom the Goje players, to featuring the king of Arewa music Ali Jita to sampling her grandma, music legend Christy Essien Igbokwe, and also learning Hausa language, it was a pleasure ride of destiny to a place in history for the rising star.

When asked about the experience of the remake of Ku Saura, Christiana said “it was such a peaceful adventure, and we could feel the presence of my grandma throughout the entire experience. We felt her strong presence when recording this song.”

Christiana also shares that one of her favourite musical instruments, which was the major factor on the new single, was the northern Goje.

She said the Goje is spiritual and special because it’s made from natural elements such as Snakeskin or lizard skin covered with a gourd bowl and a suspended horsehair string, It’s equivalent to the violin, and their use are linked to the spirit world or as a carrier for voices aimed at or from the spirit world. No wonder we felt a strong presence of my Grandma while making this song says the talented young singer.

Indeed, music runs in the family, and truly an apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Young Christiana is definitely the future of African music and one to watch out for.

Christiana also wants us to know that her much anticipated album will be a 2 CD album called “Happy Days” for her younger fans and “REBIRTH” a legacy album in memory of her grandma, Christy Essien Igbokwe the Lady of Songs,

KU SAURA is already streaming on all digital platforms with rave reviews from both the young and old.
