Embattled superstar footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo has the unshakeable faith of his mother, Dolores Aveiro in the rape allegation levelled against him by an American teacher, Kathryn Mayorga.
It would be recalled that Mayorga in her suit against the Portugal forward alleges that he raped her in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2009.
However, Aveiro has lashed out at her son’s rape accuser saying that she knows the son she has. The mother of four said,
“I know the son I have.”
She went on to add during the PR launch in Libson where she spoke that Mayorga didn’t go to her son’s hotel room to play cards. She said,
“I have confidence in my son when it comes to what happened. When she went there, it wasn’t to play cards. It was to do something. I know the son I have.”
It is noteworthy that Ronaldo has continued to maintain his innocence despite multiple reports that he paid his accuser, £290,000 (N135,763,562.35) settlement for her silence after they met.
