Davido & Lojay Through ‘Sensation’ Breaks Into Billboard Hot 100

Nigerian Afrobeats sensations Davido and Lojay secure the 96th spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with their feature on Chris Brown’s hit track “Sensational,” released on Oct. 20.

The song gains momentum with 15.7 million radio airplay audience impressions and 2.6 million U.S. streams during the Jan. 19-25 tracking week.

Davido proves his prominence in Afrobeats with recent albums, “A Better Time” (2020) and “Timeless” (March 2023), making waves on the Billboard 200 at positions 37 and 170, respectively.

Davido claims his space on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart with 25 hits, including top 10 tracks like “Stand Strong,” “Unavailable,” and “Over Dem.” His presence on the World Digital Song Sales chart, with 27 songs and 18 top 10 entries since 2016, solidifies his standing as a global Afrobeats force.

Scheduled to perform at Madison Square Garden in April, Davido’s three Grammy nominations reflect his influence in the global music scene.

Joining the ranks of Billboard success, Lojay’s debut in 2022 with the Chris Brown collaboration “Monalisa” paved the way for subsequent hits like “Arizona” and “Moto,” reaching Nos. 44 and 48 on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart in 2023.

With three EPs, including the recently released “Gangster Romantic” in March 2023, Lojay showcases his versatility and growing impact.

Collaborations with artists like French Montana and Swae Lee on “Wish U Well” underscore his ability to navigate diverse musical landscapes.
