
In a solemn gathering filled with prayers, reflection, and heartfelt emotions, the Lagos community came together to pay homage to the beloved late first wife of the Founder of Lutfil-Lahi International, Sheikh Muhammad Robiu Adebayo Abdul Malik, Seyyidat Rafat Adetoun, who died on September 10, 2024, at the age of 82 and was buried according to Islamic rites at Ogigi Town, Kwara State.
The fidau prayer held during the group’s weekly Asalatu Programme at Oworoshoki Lagos Nigeria, drew hundreds of well-wishers, top politicians, dignitaries and Muslim clerics, who described her death as a great loss to the entire family and the organisation.
In attendance were Senator Ganiu Solomon, Governor Advisory Council leader, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Chief Imam of Lagos, Sheikh Sulaimon Abou Nolla, among others.
Fidau prayer is a significant event among Muslims as it is regarded as a way of interceding on behalf the deceased. It is conducted after a person’s passing and is attended by family members, relatives, friends and well-wishers.
husband, Sheikh Robiu reminded the congregation about the inevitability of death, while urging everyone to make adequate provision for life after death.
The spiritual leader further emphasised the importance of being prepared for the appointed time, as life on earth is transient, and death is an unavoidable reality. He encouraged everyone to reflect on their mortality and strive to live a life of goodness and righteousness.
