This guide is everything you need to know about the GTBank Fashion Weekend 2017, from parking space to which designers are showing.

If you haven’t been living under a rock with no access to the internet or other human beings, then you have either heard a thing or two about this event or you are strongly looking forward to it.

Either way, this will guide you on how to attend the event, what time to arrive and how to conduct yourself at it. In case we have missed anything, feel free to add to the comments section below.

Starting from tomorrow, fashion editors, designers, influencers, celebrities and others will converge at the Water Corporation Drive in Victoria Island, Lagos to find out what we will all be wearing come next fashion season.

Speakers will host master classes, style stars will showcase on the streets before the runway shows begin, where we are bound to have one or two surprises.

Here’s everything you need to know…

Schedule

GTBank Fashion Weekend will hold for only two days: Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12, 2017. On those two days, the event as a whole will hold between 10 AM and 10 PM. During this period, the master classes and the runways shows will hold.

Traffic situation

Well, this is Lagos and there is always bound to be “go-slow”, especially when there is an event with many people in attendance. With that being said, try to come as early as you can and be ready to leave late if you must. We hope the traffic situation and parking space will be contained by the organisers and attendees have easy access getting into the venue.

FROW

Unless you’re press, a celebrity, an influencer, a buyer or a sneaky hustler, you may not get a front row seat at the show. But that should not dissuade you. Other rows have good views too. It’s really not that deep as you can see the runway comfortably from almost every angle.

Tickets

There is good news and there is bad news. The good news is that you do not need tickets to attend the event. It is totally free. All you need to do is pre-register. But the bad news is that registration is most likely already full, especially for the master classes.

Shopping

Not having registered doesn’t mean you cannot do other things at the event. The show starts on the streets of fashion week. And you can shop until you drop (or your bank account does). Vendors from your favourite designers and more will be available at the event and you are sure to get a discount or two from many of them. Besides, you could also find your way in to watch the runway shows, if you know what I mean.

Runway show

The catwalks will be graced by seven top-notch designers on each day and we are excited to see what they will bring to the runway. In case you miss it, we will be sharing looks from the runway so you don’t have much to worry about. Just remember to keep in touch.
