According to FilmOne, Everybody Loves Jenifa achieved the highest one-day grossing performance of all time with ₦87.8 million. It also secured the strongest opening weekend in 2024, attracting 38,353 admissions across cinemas nationwide.
Reporting on Saturday, Box Office Nigeria confirmed that Everybody Loves Jenifa has broken every record previously set by any film at the Nigerian box office, surpassing Funke Akindele’s own 2023 record.
“Everybody Loves Jenifa shattered box office records yesterday. It had the biggest opening day for a Nollywood film with ₦45.2M! ELJ drew 9,409 admissions, surpassing ATCJ’s 8,870 despite not screening at Genesis & missing most of the day at Silverbird Cinemas. All of these are outside of the advanced screening. Please note that the final figures could be slightly more,” NBO stated.
The film’s success comes despite the country’s economic challenges and rising ticket prices, with cinema-goers turning out in large numbers to support the movie.
