Toyin Abraham has joined Nollywood’s billion-naira club as her latest film, Oversabi Aunty, crossed the ₦1 billion mark at the Nigerian box office.
The comedy film, directed and produced by Abraham, has grossed over ₦1.02 billion since its release on December 19, 2025, according to figures shared by FilmOne Entertainment, the movie’s distributor.
The achievement makes Oversabi Aunty the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time and the first movie in the Toyin Abraham’ production to cross the ₦1 billion benchmark.
FilmOne announced the milestone in a celebratory post, describing the achievement as a “West Africa full celebration,” while praising the film’s sustained cinema run.
With a reported total of ₦1,017,201,953 in box office earnings, Oversabi Aunty now sits alongside a small group of Nollywood films that have crossed the billion-naira mark. Other titles in the category include Behind the Scenes (₦2.41 billion), Everybody Loves Jenifa (₦1.88 billion) and A Tribe Called Judah (₦1.04 billion).
The milestone represents a major career moment for Abraham, marking the first time one of her productions has reached the ₦1 billion box office figure. It also reinforces her position as one of Nollywood’s most bankable filmmakers in recent years.

Reacting to the achievement, Abraham expressed gratitude to her fans, colleagues and supporters in instagram post. She wrote: “Thank you God. Thank you ToyinTitans. Thank you Nigerians. Thanks to my cast, thanks to my crew. Thank you FilmOne. Thank you everyone,” she wrote. “I’m short of words. Oversabi Aunty to the world and still showing in cinemas near you.”
She also highlighted the significance of the project as her first directorial debut on the big screen, describing the success as both humbling and motivating.
The achievement places Toyin Abraham firmly among Nollywood’s top-grossing filmmakers and adds another landmark to her career.
Oversabi Aunty features an ensemble cast including Mike Ezuruonye, Efe Irele, Jemima Osunde, Tana Adelana, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Ngozi Ezeonu and Queen Nwokoye. Others in the film include Dike Osinachi, Adebowale Adedayo and Damilola Oni.
