Kemi Adetiba announces release date for ‘King of Boys 3’

Celebrated Nollywood director and filmmaker, Kemi Adetiba, has officially announced the release date for the much-anticipated third instalment of her hit franchise, ‘King of Boys’ (KOB).

The movie, tagged ‘The Beginning of the End’, is set to hit cinemas on December 25, 2025, promising a thrilling Detty December for fans.

Adetiba, popularly known for her blockbuster movies such as ‘The Wedding Party’ and ‘King of Boys’, revealed the big news via her Instagram page during her birthday celebration.

She wrote, “KOB Army… ARISE!!! It’s time… We MOOOOOOOVE. Signed: Your General. #KOB3 #TheBeginningOfTheEnd #DettyDecember25 #KAV25.”

New Faces, Same Thrills
The upcoming instalment will feature a mix of fresh characters while bringing back some beloved figures from the series.

The story continues to revolve around Alhaja Eniola Salami, played by Nollywood icon Sola Sobowale. The powerful businesswoman and philanthropist once again finds herself at the centre of a dangerous political power struggle.

The ‘King of Boys’ saga began in 2018, earning widespread praise for its captivating storyline and stellar performances. Its sequel, ‘King of Boys: The Return of the King’, premiered on Netflix in 2021, breaking viewership records.

The ensemble cast, which included Nse Ikpe-Etim, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Adesua Etomi, and Jide Kosoko, brought the riveting tale to life.

Kemi Adetiba: From Radio Star to Global Filmmaker
Before conquering Nollywood, Adetiba carved a niche for herself as a radio presenter at Rhythm 93.7 FM, hosting fan-favourite shows like ‘Soul’d Out’ and ‘Sunday at the Seaside’.

She later transitioned to television, where she produced and hosted popular programmes like ‘Studio 53’ and ‘Temptation Nigeria’.

In a bold career move, she left the spotlight to pursue filmmaking at the New York Film Academy. Her short film, ‘Across a Bloodied Ocean’, gained international recognition, debuting at the 2009 Pan African Film Festival. In 2016, Adetiba directed her first feature film, ‘The Wedding Party’, which opened the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and became a Nollywood sensation.

Aside from ‘King of Boys 3’, Adetiba has hinted at other projects in the pipeline, including ‘To Kill A Monkey’ and ‘Welcome to the Fourth’. With her history of breaking records and pushing boundaries, fans can expect nothing short of excellence.
