The return of these films is part of a growing trend where major Nigerian productions move to platforms like Netflix and Prime Video a few months after their theatrical run.
Below are some of titles making their streaming debut this October and those already on.
Thin Line

This intense moral thriller centres on Pastor Raymond, a well-respected preacher whose spotless public image begins to collapse after a blackmail incident involving Annie, a prostitute. When Annie turns up dead and a sex tape surfaces, Raymond becomes the prime suspect, sparking a desperate hunt to prove his innocence.
Beyond the mystery, the film digs into issues of morality, faith, and the fragility of power.
The Waiter

The action-comedy follows Akpos (Ayo Makun), a spirited Warri boy working as a temporary waiter at a minister’s high-profile hotel event. What begins as a simple catering job spirals into chaos when a terrorist group led by Tonye Bright (Bucci Franklin) storms the hotel.
The group’s demand for ₦300 billion from the government’s poverty alleviation budget drives the story, blending political satire, suspense, and Akpos’s trademark humour.
Everybody Loves Jenifa

Funke Akindele’s beloved character returns in a story that explores Jenifa’s growing influence as a philanthropist, her love life with Shege, and the arrival of a stylish neighbour, Lobster, who threatens to outshine her efforts.
The film mixes cultural festivities, drug cartel drama, domestic violence exposés and Jenifa’s comedic spark.
Directed by Funke Akindele and Tunde Olaoye, it stars Nancy Isime, Stan Nze, Falz, Layi Wasabi, Jackie Appiah, and Patience Ozokwor. It made ₦1 billion at the box office within 19 days, setting a new Nollywood record.
Farmer’s Bride

Set in 1980s Ibadan, the romantic tragedy follows Odun, a wealthy farmer who marries a young bride, Funmi. But Funmi’s affair with Odun’s nephew, Femi, triggers jealousy, betrayal, and a series of tragic events.
Written by Jack’enneth Opukeme, the film combines romance, mysticism, and power struggles, with standout performances from Gbugbemi Ejeye, Femi Branch, Mercy Aigbe, Tobi Bakre, Wumi Toriola, and Efe Irele.
After 30
Now streaming on Prime Video
This romantic drama explores the lives of three women navigating love, career, and societal expectations as they approach their 30s. Set against the backdrop of Lagos, the film tackles issues many young Nigerian women face from marriage pressure to identity and ambition.
Featuring an ensemble cast led by Toni Tones, Daniel Etim Effiong, and Bisola Aiyeola, After 30 blends humour, emotion, and social commentary to tell a story of modern adulthood.
