Movie director, Mr. Izu Ojukwu, barely made it to the post-screening Question and Answer session, just as Nollywood stars of ‘76 came out glittering at London’s West End. It was to celebrate the launch of a film that has been described as “visually textured, educational, and thoroughly entertaining; not to be missed” by the U.K. press.

The film stars renowned and notable Nollywood megastars Rita Dominic, Ramsey Nouah, Chidi Mokeme, Ibinabo Fiberesinma, Memry Savanhu, Daniel K. Daniel (African Best Actor 2016) and Ada Ofoegbu. Additionally attending were Executive Producers Adonijah Owiriwa and Tonye Princewill and a host of other stars. At the centre of the very gripping romantic thriller is the charismatic, Captain Joseph Dewa, played by Ramsey Noah, who is indicted by the military for his alleged role in the notorious Nigerian coup of 1976 that toppled then Head of State, Gen. Murtala Mohammed.

The evening was well attended by a number of notable guests and also covered by media outlets from the BBC, The Daily Mail to multiple African press agencies. The main stars of ’76, Ramsey Nouah and Rita Dominic, were mobbed by fans, and it look more than half an hour for them to leave the building.

Without a doubt, the highlight of the evening was the last minute arrival of the movie’s Director, Mr. Izu Ojukwu, who was in the nick of time to attend the post-screening Question and Answer session, to rapturous applause. Described as ‘A Story of Love, Honour and Bullets,’ it turned out a veritable night of cinematic celebrations and outstanding achievements!
