Ryan Reynolds Is Remaking ‘Home Alone’ As An R-Rated Movie ‘Stoned Alone’
The wishful desire to return back to the days of home alone the Chris Columbus-directed original released during the holiday season in 1990 is apparent. Thankfully Fox and Ryan Reynolds have found an irreverent and ingenious way of reimagining the classic movie.
The Deadpool star is putting an R-rated spin on one of the most beloved family films of all time “Home Alone” and he’s calling it “Stoned alone”. It’s set to be directed by Augustine Frizzell from a script by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider (Netflix’s The Package).
According to Deadline, The plot synopsis will go like this:
‘[Stoned Alone] centres around a twenty-something weed growing loser who misses the plane for his holiday ski trip. He makes the best of things by getting high. Paranoia sets in and he believes he hears someone break into his house. Turns out thieves have broken in. Fully stoned and fueled by paranoia, he tries to thwart the thieves and defend his castle.’
There is no news on casting yet, but the remake of sorts could be in cinemas in time for Home Alone’s 20th anniversary.
