Veteran actor Ramsey Nouah has said he is still very much relevant in romantic movie roles and has not been pushed aside by younger Nollywood actors.

The 54-year-old film star made this statement on Sunday, April 6, 2025, during a live conversation with content creator Enioluwa Adeoluwa at the premiere of Radio Voice in Lagos.

According to Ramsey, being called an “OG lover boy” does not mean he has been sidelined. He believes there’s still enough room for everyone in Nollywood’s love stories.

“That actually sounds like a relegation. How can you relegate me to the back? We are still in front, nothing for all of you. The sky is big enough for every bird to fly,” he said.

Nouah, who has spent over two decades as one of Nollywood’s favourite romantic leads, has starred in multiple love-themed films in recent years, showing no signs of slowing down.

In 2023, he led the cast of “Need to Love”, a drama built around a complex love triangle.
He also played emotionally heavy roles in “Secret Behind the Pain” (2022) and “The Right Kind of Wrong” (2022), where he acted as a man fighting for love despite the odds.

“We are all learning from you in this new generation,” Enioluwa told the actor, praising his consistent impact in Nigerian romantic cinema.

In “Forgiving Love” (2023), Nouah took a different direction, playing a man struggling with heartbreak, guilt, and forgiveness.

Often described as “Nollywood’s classic lover boy,” Ramsey Nouah has continued to balance his acting career with directing and mentoring younger talents in the industry.
