Why should you eat breakfast?

When you wake up in the morning after a stretch of not eating, your body is ready to “break the fast”. To power up your body, brain and muscles, blood sugar must be replenished. Missing breakfast may lead to: Tiredness, Temptation of picking up unhealthy snacks, Overeating.

Breakfast increases your chances of eating more dietary fiber; it increases the chances of eating more fruits and vegetables. Breakfast allows you to include more protein and nutrients daily. It also allows you to control what you eat by eating in especially during the week.

Dietary fiber plays a vital health role, it is the constituent of your plant food that your body cannot digest, and has been scientifically proven to lowers blood sugar and cholesterol, and it can also help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity.

Whole wheat or whole grain breakfast cereals are rich in fiber, choosing a cereal pack which contains little or no sugar is great if you are on a weight loss journey or planning to lead a healthier lifestyle.

21 to 25 grams of fiber per day for women, 30 to 38 grams per day for men is the recommended amount of fiber on a daily basis. A typical serving of cereal should have 5 or more grams of fiber.
