‎Piqued by high-rate food poisoning in major eateries and the need to restore the dignity of African foods, BGFOODS Ltd, a new startup, has been founded to tackle unsafe food practices through ready-to-cook, preservative-free African foods.

The agro-processing brand established in 2020 by Adedigba Olajumoke, turns everyday produce like fish, grains, and spices into hygienically processed meals for health-conscious families in Nigeria and the diaspora.
‎Olajumoke, who spoke at the sidelines of Hustle Africa’s bi-monthly PR Tea Conference in Ikeja, Lagos, explained the drive behind the business.

“BGFOODS was born out of the need to tackle unsafe food practices and the stress of preparing healthy meals in Nigerian homes.

The founder saw firsthand how preservatives, poor processing, and lack of convenience affected both health and family life. By turning everyday farm produce like fish, grains, spices, and condiments into ready-to-cook, hygienically processed, preservative-free products, BGFOODS makes it easier for families to eat well without compromising taste or tradition.”

‎She added that beyond food, the brand also connects Africans abroad to authentic cultural tastes while promoting a woman-led entrepreneurial vision.
