This Asian lettuce chicken wraps recipe, will so haunt you at first bite until you have them made over and over again. It is delicious and a quick fix meal. Don’t hesitate to make a birthday meal request on this one; your friends will be glad to delight you while trying it out.

Looking out to try something other than the usual this weekend? Then try Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps–you will be glad you did. Like I said, it’s a quick fix, so in about 20 minutes, you can have it ready to serve, if you mean business–the ladies will understand better. It doesn’t require so much ingredients, just basics ingredients you can easily pick up from a near-by supermarket, more-so, it’s a meal you can run through as a quick dinner when you arrive work late during some of those hectic work days.

Ingredients

  • 12 Bibb lettuce leaves (about 1 head)
  • 1 tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp. rice wine vinega
  • 2 tsp. minced pickled ginger
  • Asian chili pepper sauce to taste
  • 1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 2 tsp. Asian (dark) sesame oil
  • 1 pound ground chicken

Method

Rinse whole lettuce leaves, pat dry and set aside; be careful not to tear though. Heat cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat, add onion, and cook (keep stirring) until tender, about 5 to 10 minutes. Stir in hoisin sauce, garlic, vinegar, soy sauce, ginger and Asian chili pepper sauce. Shred chicken if in lump form and remove bone. Add water chestnuts, green onions, sesame oil and chicken. Cook and stir until the green onions just begin to wane, do that for about 2 more minutes and bring down. Serve Chicken sauce on lettuce leaves and food is ready!
