On a star-studded evening in Ikoyi, whisky met horsepower as Glenfiddich and Aston Martin Formula One™ turned Lagos into a playground of precision, craft, and celebration. The event, themed “The Night of Precision: Club 1959,” brought together Lagos’ creative elite and global luxury icons for an unforgettable experience that fused whisky artistry with the thrill of Formula 1 performance.

The event held on the eve of the Singapore Grand Prix, “A Night Before the Race,” took place at Gamma Records, where the ambience was transformed into a sensory showcase of speed and sophistication. The collaboration celebrated mastery and innovation, and also a shared heritage — 1959, the year Aston Martin made its Formula 1 debut, and a milestone in Glenfiddich’s pursuit of excellence.

“This collaboration celebrates mastery in every form, engineering, music, design, and whisky,” said Eddie Madaki, Meta Luxe Manager for William Grant & Sons in Nigeria.

Guests were welcomed into an atmosphere bathed in warm amber lighting, with racing-inspired visuals echoing the precision of Formula 1. The evening began with a fine dining experience, each course paired with Glenfiddich’s most exquisite single malts, including the newly introduced Glenfiddich 16 Year Old Single Malt, a whisky symbolising craftsmanship and patience.

Madaki unveiled the 16-year-old limited edition, sharing the story behind its creation, a commemorative release drawn from an ultra-rare 1959 cask, crafted to honour Glenfiddich’s spirit of innovation and Aston Martin’s engineering excellence. The unveiling set the tone for a night that celebrated not just indulgence but legacy and discipline.

As the evening unfolded, music and motion came alive. DJ Flo, Casper Sandra, Baggio, and Jinseoul curated seamless soundscapes that transitioned from mellow sophistication to high-energy rhythms, preparing the stage for Afrobeats star Runtown. His performance, charged with rhythm and charisma, drew cheers from the audience and perfectly captured the night’s fusion of speed and style. Acrobatic performers complemented the atmosphere with fluid, graceful movements reminiscent of Formula 1 precision.

“It felt like being inside a Formula 1 engine, precision everywhere, but with Lagos soul,” one guest said after the performance.

Notable personalities, including Peruzzi, Fave, Ifeanyi Nwune, Larry Gaaga, Cross Nwachukwu, Frodd, Clarence Peters, and Chef Obeh graced the event, blending Lagos’ cultural energy with global luxury.

In line with Glenfiddich’s “Spirit of Control” campaign, guests were reminded that true mastery includes restraint. As the night drew to a close, the message was clear: luxury is not excess but balance, and perfection is born from precision.
