Guinness World Record: Ronaldo awarded Player With Most Caps

Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been honoured as the player with the most cap in the international male football category, according to the Guinness World Record

In 2022, after his 196th appearance for Portugal, Ronaldo equalled the record for the most international football caps by an individual (male), previously held by Kuwait’s Bader Al-Mutawa.

And in March of this year, Ronaldo made history by surpassing Al-Mutawa’s record and setting a new benchmark with a remarkable total of 198 international caps, establishing himself as the player with the highest number of international appearances in history.

This incredible achievement was accomplished between August 20, 2003, and March 26 of the current year.

On June 20, 2023, Ronaldo took to the pitch for his monumental 200th game. Leading Portugal against Iceland, he guided his team through an intense match that culminated in a 1-0 victory.
