Here is a rundown of events that happened on this day in history:

2010 – A young Afghanistan woman whose nose and ears were cut as a form of punishment for running away from her violent husband appears on the cover of TIME Magazine.

2011 – There is a clash between soldiers and youths in Jos, the northern part of Nigeria after suspected members of Boko Haram are arrested. The youths machete over two people to death.

2012 – In Florida, Michael (46) and Margaret Pollara (70) are arrested for stealing expensive toys worth over $2 million from Toys R Us stores. The mother and son resold the items online.

2012 – Google accepts to pay $22.5 million on the allegations grounds that it breached Apple’s Safari Internet browser so that it will secretly track Web surfers.

2013 – Three boys in Australia, Chancey Allen Luna, James Francis Edwards Jr. and Michael Dewayne Jones, are charged with first-degree murder. Christopher Lane was shot once in the back as he was jogging but died before the medics arrived. They claimed they wanted to shoot someone out of boredom.
