Search engine Google now allows you to download an archived list of everything you have ever searched for. This includes all the embarrassing queries you must have “googled”, sensitive or personal information like your bank statements, medical symptoms and travel sites.

The world today has made many people realising that their personal information is less secure than they thought. Users are looking for ways to limit their online exposure and are taking certain measures to protect themselves and their information.

One way to start taking control of your online information and limiting online exposure is by deleting your Google web browser history and Google search history. This helps you monitor how much data you allow to be collected about you on the internet.

Here are some easy steps to take to delete your Google web browser history:

Step 1: Sign into your Google account.
Step 2: View your web and app activity.
Step 3: In the top right corner of the page, click the cog icon for settings and select “Remove Items”.
Step 4: Choose the time or period for which you want to delete. items. To delete your entire history, select “The Beginning of Time”.
Step 5: Click “Remove”.

Note: The instructions differ depending on the device you use. Clearing your browser history is not the same as clearing your Google Web and App Activity history. When you clear your browser history, you are only deleting the history that is locally stored on your computer. Clearing your browser history does not do anything to the data stored on Google’s servers.
