Prominent German fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld is dead at the age of 85.

It is gathered that the late designer who was the creative director for Chanel and Fendi died in a Paris hospital in France.

Lagerfeld who was one of the fashion industry’s most prolific figures until his death is reported to have been sick for several weeks and had missed a number of fashion shows.

Taking to social media, fellow designer, Henry Holland paid tribute to Lagerfeld using one of his own quotes.

It would be recalled that when Lagerfield had missed two of Chanel’s haute couture Paris shows, the fashion company only said at the time he was feeling tired. In a statement read out after he missed the second show, it said,

“Mr Lagerfeld, artistic director of Chanel, who was feeling tired, asked Virginie Viard, director of the creative studio of the house, to represent him.”

It was the first time he had ever missed giving a catwalk bow at the end of a Chanel show.
