Johnny Depp testified in a Fairfax, Virginia, tribunal to counter testimony previously given by witnesses including Amber Heard, claiming that he was abusive, and that her charges of violence against him are “heinous.”

Heard had previously testified that Depp had hit her and that she had used force in response to him. Depp said Heard’s allegations of physical and sexual violence had gone out of hand.

To restate his claim, Johnny Depp said, “I have never in my life committed sexual battery, physical abuse. All these outlandish, outrageous stories of me committing these things and living with it for six years and waiting to be able to bring the truth out. So this is not easy for any of us. I know that. No matter what happens, I did get here and I did tell the truth. And I have spoken up for what I’ve been carrying on my back reluctantly for six years.”

A recently surfaced picture, showed Depp with a black eye while he and Heard were on their honeymoon aboard the Orient Express. During the cross-examination, he was asked how he got the injury. and his response was, “Ms. Heard hit me.”

Heard gave her side of the story about many alleged violent episodes with Depp when she joined the stand earlier this month.

She testified that around the time of a March 2015 incident in Australia that left Depp with a seriously wounded finger, Depp consumed about 8-10 MDMA pills, which Depp stated he wouldn’t be able to take so many medications, stating “Because I’d be dead. Pretty sure I’d be dead.

He added, “I think one would die. Probably rather quickly.”

During Heard’s testimony, she stated that she didn’t realize Depp’s finger had been hurt until many hours later.

Depp alleges that Heard threw a glass vodka bottle at him, severing the tip of his finger. Describing the scene, Depp said he informed his physician that he had chopped the top of my middle finger off, and asked him, “What should I do!??”

Depp said he had told the doctor what happened when he was later examined by him at the home where he was staying.

“There would be no point in lying to the man. He’d been through it with me and Ms. Heard before. I told him that she had thrown a bottle of vodka and smashed and cut my finger off. The tip of my finger. A good chunk. I miss it.”

However, Heard’s team who hand contacted a hand surgeon that took the stand, testified that Depp’s allegations of his injuries were contradictory with his claim that Heard banged his palm against a glass vodka bottle.

Depp is suing Heard for $50 million, claiming that an op-ed she penned in the Washington Post in 2018, referring to herself as “a public figure symbolizing domestic abuse,” defamed him and cost him business in Hollywood. Heard has countersued for $100 million in defamation, saying that a lawyer representing Depp called her allegations of abuse a “hoax.”
