Juju Master Sunny Ade Is Honoured By Buhari At Age 76
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari celebrated with King Sunny Ade, a multi-instrumentalist and master of juju music who recently turned 76.
King Sunny Ade, also known as Sunday Adegeye, received a congratulatory message by his special adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, stating “President Buhari hails King Sunny Ade at 76.”
The statement read, “President Buhari honours King Sunny Ade at 76. As the talented guitarist turns 76, the President extols the gifted songwriter, producer and visiting professor of music at the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife for taking Nigeria’s local beats to the world, exporting the rich culture and placing instruments like the ‘talking drum’ on global spotlight for research and adaption.”
The multi-talented entertainer has earned all of the accolades and prizes that have been given to her over the years, including the national honour of Member of the Federal Republic, according to Buhari.
He prayed for continued health, vigour, and the gift of increased creativity.
