American rapper Kanye West has declared his intention to run for the office of the president of the United States in 2020.
The rapper who is a vocal supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump took to his twitter page to declare his intention on the 4th of July, the same day commemorating the Declaration of Independence of the United States.

“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States Flag of United States! #2020VISION,” he tweeted.
West’s announcement has earned the support of tech billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk who tweeted, “You have my full support!”
It was not immediately clear if West was serious about vying for the presidency four months before the November 3 election or if he had filed any official paperwork to appear on state election ballots.
The deadline to add independent candidates to the ballot has not yet passed in many states.
West and his wife visited Trump in the White House in 2018. West wore a red “Make America Great Again” cap and uttered words such as “motherf***er” and “infinite amounts of universe”. He said Trump made him feel like Superman, hugged him and declared: “I love this guy right here.”
Asked if West could be a future presidential candidate, Trump replied: “Could very well be.”
West replied: “Only after 2024. Let’s stop worrying about the future. All we really have is today. We just have today.”
This is not the first time Kanye West would make known his intention to become the president of the United States. Last November, during the fifth annual Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York
“When I run for President in 2024,” West began, interrupted by an outbreak of laughter in the audience. “What y’all laughing at? We would create so many jobs! I’m not going to run, I’m going to walk. When you see headlines saying Kanye’s crazy — one in three African Americans are in jail and all the celebrities are in jail also because they can’t say nothing, they got no opinion, they’re so scared!”
