Kehlani’s Ex-Partner Alleges Singer Is In A Cult, Files For Daughter’s Custody
Kehlani’s ex-partner, Javaughn Young-White, has filed a petition to gain legal and physical custody of their 5-year-old daughter, Adeya. Young-White makes some disturbing claims about the singer’s alleged involvement in a cult in a court document obtained by TMZ.
What the filing states
According to the filing, Young-White claims that “everyone else has a bigger say-so when it comes to the upbringing of our daughter than I do.” He alleges that because Adeya was born at home and not in a hospital, his name was not listed on the birth certificate as the father. Young-White says he has repeatedly requested a copy of the birth certificate and their daughter’s social security number but to no avail.
Cult accusations against Kehlani
The most shocking accusation, however, is Young-White’s claim that Kehlani “has been involved in this cult for the past few years and it appears that this cult controls her actions and her behaviour, including when it comes to the upbringing of our daughter.” He alleges that he has tried to retrieve Adeya in the past but was “physically restrained and threatened” by members of the supposed cult.
The filing states that when Kehlani is on tour, their daughter is “in the care of her fellow cult members.” And that Adeya “sleeps in the bed with, and is given baths by random adult members of the cult. He stated that “she is often in the bedroom alone with some of these people.”

Young-White’s request
Young-White is requesting that the court grant him full custody of Adeya. As well as add his name to the birth certificate, and require Kehlani to undergo a psychological examination. He claims the environment Kehlani has created for their daughter is not suitable. And that he is trying to “save” Adeya “before it is too late.”
Kehlani and Javaughn Young-White dated from 2018 to 2019. The couple split after Kehlani came out as a lesbian and non-binary.
Kehlani is yet to respond to the claims made by Young-White. We shall provide more information as the legal battle unfolds.
