“What made Kendrick Lamar’s 2024 so remarkable was that he didn’t just remind us of all the reasons why he was so big at his commercial and cultural peak – he showed that he could do things we’d never even seen from him before,” Unterberger shared.

Unterberger added that Lamar reached new heights no other rapper has touched this decade, creating moments of “blunt-force impact” and cultural significance that reverberated through the streets and charts alike.

K.Dot led a star-studded lineup on Billboard’s list, followed by Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Post Malone, Billie Eilish, and Jelly Roll. Drake and Bruno Mars received honourable mentions.

The year also recognised other talents: Shaboozey was named Rookie of the Year, while Hozier earned praise for his inspiring comeback.

Kendrick’s Not Like Us didn’t just dominate Billboard; it also claimed the top spot on Vevo’s Top 10 Hip-Hop Videos chart in the U.S.

Meanwhile, GloRilla made her mark on the list, with four tracks, including TGIF at #2 and Yeah Glo! at #4, earning her well-deserved recognition.
