Maleek Berry drops first 2019 official single, flashy

After his last year double, Wait and Doin U, British-Nigerian record producer and songwriter serves his debut for the year, and highly anticipated single dubbed Flashy, as promised few days ago.

Brilliantly produced by Maleek Berry himself, Flashy stands out for two main reasons. First, the beat is infectious. Hence it’s probably the most instantly infectious single the music star has ever released; and secondly, we get to hear the Berry’s, his inimitable vocals and rap, which he is know for.

The new project is following his energetic performance at this years’ The Ends festival. He appeared on NBC talk show, The Tonight Show hosted by Jimmy Fallon.

On the track, Berry takes a very welcome break from singing about love, using this time, instead, to brag about all his accomplishments and dunk on his haters. “Boy, I am the sun, you be candle”, he confidently declares on the song’s opening verse.

The hit-maker cum singer has soared as a guest on a couple of 2019 tracks — from Simi’s Immortal to GoldLink’s Zulu Screams, which kept the fans anticipated for the release his very own banger.

Before the release of the track, yesterday, Maleek Berry said he had locked himself in the studio all year, clearly working on doling out bangers. And judging by the new single, it looks like all that work was worth it. The new work runs on a smooth, infectious beat and a ton of adlibs.
