Mali Langa: The Creative Visionary

Luxury, class, hard work, and determination are just a few of the words used to describe interior design stylist Mali Langa of TASK Interior Styling, and her work which is paving the way in the interior design industry one colour shade after another!

Mali Langa is a renowned South African interiors wiz who hails from the beautiful Limpopo province and currently resides in Johannesburg, South Africa.

A dynamic businesswoman who is devoted to bringing out the potential in any space, Mali Langa is often described as a creative visionary who expresses her love for luxury, opulence, and colour into her designs to create one of a kind masterpieces.

Mali Langa thrives on creating bold eclectic luxury designs, adding her special charm to every project. Speaking on her design style, she stated:

I love a pop of colour. I need to be able to walk into a room and it’s got to speak to me. It has to be fun, yet also be a space I feel comfortable in.

Mali Langa has always had a love for interior design keying into the opportunity to transform something basic to a mindblowing work of art. For her, interior design has always been therapeutic and relaxing, so it was no surprise when she decided to shift her focus from the corporate world where she was working as an executive director for a Gauteng based-mining company and delve into interior styling.

In 2016, TASK Interior Styling was born out of Langa’s inability to find the perfect designer for a project she was working on. She saw this as an opportunity to harness her love for beautiful pieces in order to deliver on the project.

Since its inception, TASK Interior Styling has become a force to be reckoned with in the design industry both in South Africa and internationally. The boutique interior design studio focuses on creating an intimate connection with clients in order to provide a sense of individuality for each project embarked on. TASK’s approach goes beyond aesthetics as they seek to create happiness and functionality for their clients.

I don’t just want to create something that I like, it must be unique, a customised space that resonates with my client. It’s one thing for a space to look good; it also has to feel good when you’re in it.

Mali Langa who is a firm believer that “innovation flourishes through collaboration” has used this motto to build TASK Interior Styling to the level at which it is now and this has played a huge role in their current success. Under her tutelage, TASK has completed noteworthy projects which have allowed them to stand out in the industry.

In just 4 years of being active in the interior design landscape, Mali Langa has been granted an array of awards, further solidifying her relevance.

In 2019, she achieved Decorex award-winning status where she received the awards for ‘Best Newcomer’ and ‘Best Decor Stand’ as well as receiving an ‘Exhibitor Distinction’ at the 2019 ROAR awards.

Beyond her prowess in the interior design industry, Mali Langa is also passionate about extending a giving hand to the less privileged. Through the Mali Langa Children’s Foundation (MLCF) she has been able to give back to the community through uplifting the lives of children who come from less fortunate circumstances. Recently, she donated laptops to children at an orphanage home in South Africa to help with e-learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mali Langa is setting the tone of leadership to inspire business minds like her. She is striving to not just provide a service but to be seen as a body that is known for giving value to her clients, partners, and the people she comes across whilst on this journey.
